I have invested my time, my energy, and my passion into being a Cubs fan for as long as I can remember and they finally did it!
Thanks Mom and Dad for introducing me to this wonderful game (and not being White Sox fans). There’s a lot of serious stuff going on in the world these days, but sometimes you just need to stop and celebrate the things that put a smile on your face.
And my apologies to my neighbors if they heard a lot of late night yelling and cheering. Fortunately, being in New Mexico, it wasn’t too late.
If you didn’t see the game you missed one of the BEST baseball games that has ever been played.
Congratulations to everyone in the Cubs organization. It took everyone from the top down to make this happen and I AM SO HAPPY!!!!
(And there are some lessons here — when you have a dream and you refuse to quit, miracles can happen. I heard interview after interview with players last night who said they dreamt as a child that they would win the World Series. Yes — dreams can come true.)
Finally, I offer my congratulations to the Cleveland Indians. They had a fabulous year and played their hearts out in this series but it was the Cubs year.
Maybe we will see a rematch next year? Wouldn’t that be something!!
