It used to be that socially responsible and sustainable investing was for the tree-huggers of the world. And, in those early days, you had to be willing to give up some of your return in order to invest that way.
But today, more and more research is showing that investing in companies who do good is the wave of the future.
See, it no longer is just about how much profit a company earns that is important, it is HOW a company creates its profit that is key.
Companies that do good are being rewarded. And by doing good I mean caring about their employees, their clients and customers, their communities and their planet. Their good practices are translating into more profitability which translates into higher stock prices.
While we are not yet living in a world where 100% of our corporations are doing good and contributing positively to our world, we are getting there.
It is easier than ever before to use our investments to speak with our dollars.
And, because there are more and more companies doing good, it’s becoming easier to find great companies to work for. (Or, here’s a thought, you can create one!)
Just imagine a world where no one ever again invested in or was willing to work for a mis-managed, greedy, toxic company.
